It is important to try out your stylists ahead of time so you can be sure they understand the look you’re going for. Keep in mind that wedding day hair and makeup usually needs to be a bit heavier so it will last the many hours it needs to and stand up under the flash of cameras. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t feel like you’re suffocating under the weight of it.

❍ Do all your facials and waxings at least 2 weeks before your wedding in case you react badly to the treatments.

❍ Do your final haircut and color 2 weeks before the wedding, as well. Don’t try any new color or cut right before the wedding.

❍ Don’t try any new makeup on the wedding day. Even if you’re using a makeup artist, bring your own foundation to avoid allergic reactions.

❍ Pack a small bag with pressed powder and the lipstick color you plan to wear on the wedding day. If you can swing it, have your hairstylist and makeup artist stay and retouch you after the ceremony.

❍ Don’t forget that special perfume—but don’t overdo it, either.
